Regulations
RU provides education at all levels of university studies, preliminary study programmes according to Paragraph 4 of Article 19 in the Higher Education Institutions Act no. 63/2006, and professional continuing education. All studies at RU shall be accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in accordance with Act no. 63/2006.

Accreditation
All programmes at Reykjavik University are accredited by the Ministry of Education in Iceland. The Minister of Education, Science and Culture grants accreditation to higher education institutions that qualify for the prerequisites of the Higher Education Institution Act (no. 63 from 2006) and the Rules of Accreditations of Higher Education Institutions (no. 1067 from 2006). Accreditation is limited to particular fields of study and subdivisions therein.
Rules
The Reykjavik University student housing is located at Nauthólsvegur 83-85, at the base of Öskjuhlíð. The student housing comprises two apartment complexes, each 4-5 stories high. A total of 252 apartments are available for students.

History of Reykjavik University
The history of Reykjavík University (HR) began with the establishment of the Technical School of Iceland in 1964. Its purpose was to bridge the gap between vocational education and university studies. The Technical School was elevated to university status in 2002 and renamed the Technical University of Iceland. On March 4, 2005, the Technical University of Iceland merged with Reykjavík University under the name Reykjavík University.
