Special Needs Adaptations

Representatives from the Blind Assistance Center are installing signage throughout the building to improve accessibility for the visually impaired.

This project is still in development, particularly regarding the size of the labels and the messages behind each code. The system relies on a smartphone app and its camera, which reads the messages associated with each sign-aloud for the user.

Individuals with temporary disabilities, which can be managed, treated, or alleviated, can apply for accommodations each semester or for the academic year. If a student's disability is permanent, they should apply for accommodations at the beginning of their studies, and these accommodations will remain in place for the duration of their time at RU.

Interesting Facts About the Building

The building was inaugurated on November 1, 2010. It spans approximately 30,000 square meters across three floors. The design is based on wings connected by a central space called Sólin ("The Sun"). The names are inspired by the solar system and its planets. Three wings have been built so far: Venus, Mars, and Uranus.

The corridor between Venus and Mars is called Earth. Perpendicular to the building’s wings are hallways A, B, and C, forming a kind of grid where every room has its own number. More wings will be added in the future, and the building's design accommodates potential expansions.
