International Collaboration Networks

Reykjavik University (RU) actively participates in numerous international networks that shape the strategic direction of higher education globally. These networks provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and influence in education and research.

Key Networks RU is a Part of:

EUA - European University Association
The EUA represents European universities across 47 countries, with 850 members and 17 million students. It serves as a crucial platform for discussing and implementing innovations in higher education in Europe. Members contribute to shaping educational policies and initiatives, such as the Bologna Process, and engage with key institutions like the European Commission and the European Parliament.

University of the Arctic (UArctic)
RU is a member of this network of over 130 universities and institutions from eight countries focused on northern regions. UArctic promotes research, education, and opportunities for sustainable development in Arctic communities, making it one of the largest global networks in education and research for this area.

NORDTEK
NORDTEK is a collaboration of rectors and deans from technical universities in Nordic countries. Membership requires universities to offer engineering programs at the master’s and doctoral levels in technical research. The network comprises 24 universities with over 100,000 students, faculty, and researchers.

Nordplus Law Network
This network includes 22 universities specializing in legal education across the Nordic and Baltic regions. It promotes academic cooperation through exchanges and knowledge sharing, enhancing cultural understanding and collaboration among Nordic countries.

NeurotechEU - University of Brain and Technology
RU is a full member of NeurotechEU, part of the European University Initiative, which brings together leading research universities in neurotechnology.

Objectives of NeurotechEU:

Improve teaching methodologies and foster collaboration in neurotechnology research.
Strengthen Europe’s position in neuroscience and technology.
Equip professionals with the skills to address future societal challenges.
