What is the Energy Field School?
The Energy Field School is a two-week intensive course hosted by the Iceland School of Energy at Reykjavik University. Tailored for scientists, engineers, recent graduates, and professionals, this immersive program introduces participants to renewable energy systems through a mix of fieldwork, lectures, and collaborative projects.
Focus for 2025: Geothermal Energy
This year, the Energy Field School dives into geothermal energy, one of Iceland’s greatest resources. Participants will explore geothermal systems in-depth—from geology and geophysics to carbon sequestration and direct-use applications—learning how this renewable energy source powers sustainable communities.

Fees, Accommodation, and Planning

- Students: 475,000 ISK (~3,500 USD)
- Non-students: 525,000 ISK (~3,870 USD)
Fee includes: tuition, field trips, materials, and most meals during excursions.
